Bethesda Softworks has launched a new Web site for its upcoming 3D role-playing game, The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. The new site features detailed information about the gameworld, the background story, the playable races, and the construction set that will be included in the game. In addition, the site contains galleries of concept art and screenshots showing off the advanced 3D game engine.

Morrowind will be the third installment in the Elder Scrolls role-playing game series. Like the previous games, Morrowind will feature an open-ended nonlinear storyline in a large, detailed fantasy world. Although the game will focus exclusively on single-player adventuring, it will include a powerful game editor that will let players design, create, and play in custom maps and quests. In addition, the editor will let players adjust the statistics of items, spells, enemies, and almost anything else that appears in the game.

For more information, take a look at our in-depth preview of the game and visit the new official Morrowind Web site. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind is in development in-house at Bethesda, and it is scheduled for release at the end of 2001.
