Best Prime Day Movie and TV deals

Now is a particularly good time to snag the Game of Thrones collection, as the standard Blu-ray format is just $60 (down from $205), while the 4K UHD format is $100 (down from $255). Those are both among the best prices we've seen for the hit HBO series--so be sure to check out the two deals during Prime Day.

One of the best Blu-ray deals is for The Wire: The Complete Series, which is just $59 (down from $120). Along with a Blu-ray version of the entire series, you’ll also get a digital copy so you can catch up on the lengthy crime drama while away from home. The highly praised show follows the drug trade in Baltimore, exposing societal ills from the perspective of dealers, users, and the (often morally ambiguous) detectives and politicians tasked with bringing it to an end.

If you’re looking for something a bit more family-friendly, you’ll find the Sonic The Hedgehog 2-Movie Collection (limited-edition steelbook) for $27 (down from $48), Toy Story 3 (steelbook) for $23 (down from $35), and the Looney Tunes Golden Collection Vol. 1-6 for $73 (down from $145).

Meanwhile, film buffs won't want to miss the huge sale on the Criterion Collection at Amazon and Barnes and Noble, which includes dozens of films for 50% off.

Other great deals include discounts on the complete series collections for Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. You can even save on the limited-edition steelbook edition of The Legend of Korra at Amazon.

Keep in mind there's a mix of 4K UHD Blu-rays, standard Blu-rays, and DVDs on this list. If you're a Prime member, you should also check out the current streaming subscription deals via Prime Video.
