Best Madden 24 TEs: Top Tight Ends By OVR Rating

The tight end position is one of the most competitive in all of football, and the top 10 list in Madden 24 proves that.

Comments

One of the most underrated positions on the football field is tight end. Once thought of as a purely blocking position along the offensive line, tight end has blossomed into a true threat in the passing game. In Madden 24, there are dozens of high-caliber tight ends that all help their team win games in some form or fashion.

Of course, like with every other position, only 10 can be considered the best tight ends in the league. Ratings week for Madden 24 has unveiled the top 10 tight ends along with a new member of the 99 Club in Kansas City's Travis Kelce. While it's no surprise that Kelce remains the best tight end in football, there are some talented players lurking behind him in the ratings. You can check out the full ratings list for the tight ends in Madden 24 by visiting EA's website, but we have also listed the top 10 players at the position below.

Top 10 TEs in Madden 24

The tight end position has only grown more competitive over the last several years, with new players rising up in the ratings every season. While the 99 Club has mainly been reserved for the likes of Travis Kelce and the recently retired Rob Gronkowski, other tight ends have proven they are stars in the NFL as well.

1. Travis Kelce - 99 OVR

There's not much to say about Kelce that hasn't already been said. Even before he started playing with the best quarterback in the league, he was posting incredible numbers out of the tight end position. Kelce is considered more of a receiver than a tight end in the Chiefs' offense, but he can still block linebackers and defensive ends with the best of them. This makes for an all-around terrific tight end and he has certainly earned his spot in the 99 Club.

2. George Kittle - 96 OVR

Once again, no surprise at the number two position. San Fran's George Kittle has been the second-best tight end in the NFL for a few years at this point, and he is primed for another great year. Perhaps a full season with quarterback Brock Purdy will allow Kittle to keep up with Kelce in the receiving yards department.

3. Mark Andrews - 95 OVR

So far, this top three matches the top three from a year ago in Madden 23. Mark Andrews is a touchdown machine in Baltimore and has become one of the best redzone threats in the entire league. His production should not slow down anytime soon with quarterback Lamar Jackson locked in for the long haul.

4. T.J. Hockenson - 90 OVR

It's a steep drop-off in terms of the OVR rating from the third to fourth spot, but it's nice to see a new face in T.J. Hockenson. Now a member of the Vikings, Hockenson has proven to be a terrific pass-catching tight end. Playing in an offense with 99 Club member Justin Jefferson should allow for Hockenson to secure some favorable matchups.

5. Dallas Goedert - 89 OVR

Philly's Dallas Goedert is one of the most underrated tight ends in the league and is getting some great recognition in the top 10 tight ends list of Madden 24. Goedert has become an outstanding number-one tight end for the Eagles, but his production chances aren't as plentiful as others on this list given the offense he's in.

6. Kyle Pitts - 87 OVR

This is where the top 10 list gets a little controversial. Despite having a decent first and second season, Kyle Pitts has not become the scoring machine that many predicted he would be when he first arrived in Atlanta. However, Pitts is playing in a revamped offense and he should have more targets and chances to score in 2023-24.

7. Darren Waller - 86 OVR

Waller was rated as the fourth-best tight end a year ago, but a down year in 2022-023 has caused his rating to fall quite a bit. However, Waller has gotten out of Oakland and finds himself in an up-and-coming New York Giants offense where he should thrive.

8. Pat Freiermuth - 85 OVR

Another new face on this list, the Steelers' Pat Freiermuth has become an underrated tight end in the NFL. His production has been on a gradual incline since entering the league and a second year with QB Kenny Pickett should do wonders for him out of the tight end position.

9. David Njoku - 84 OVR

David Njoku has had a strange career but has remained in Cleveland for all of it despite some trade requests. With Deshaun Watson at quarterback full-time, Njoku should be able to see some decent targets and scoring chances. We'll have to see if he can finally have a breakout year in 2023-24.

10. Evan Engram - 84 OVR

Wrapping up the list is Jacksonville's Evan Engram, who just signed a long-term contract extension to remain with the Jaguars. Engram had a fantastic season in 2022-23, posting over 700 yards and four TDs. With quarterback Trevor Lawrence showing massive strides last season, Engram's production should only increase.

And that does it for the best tight ends in Madden 24. As always, these ratings are subject to change throughout the course of the season, so don't be surprised to see a different top 10 list by season's end.
