Beauty And The Beast's Gaston And LeFou Getting Disney Plus Series

Luke Evans and Josh Gad return for a tale as old as time...Gaston and LeFou?

Comments

Looks like Disney+ is about to tell another tale as old as time: Gaston and LeFou and how they met.

THR is reporting that Luke Evans and Josh Gad are returning to the French countryside once again in a limited prequel series to Disney's live-action Beauty and the Beast film from 2017. Helmed by Once Upon A Time creators Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, with Gad also serving as co-creator, writer, and showrunner, the yet-to-be-named series will seemingly follow the early adventures of Gaston and LeFou. There's no word yet on any other stars from the movie on making appearances.

Sources say the Beauty and the Beast prequel stemmed from Kitsis and Horowitz's time working with Gad on the now-scrapped Muppets Live Another Day comedy series that was in the works, also for Disney+.

It's also noted that Disney legendary composer Alan Menken is in talks to return as well for the six-episode mini-series, but nothing is confirmed as it is still in early stages of development.

Gad’s performance as Gaston’s goofy but lovable sidekick launched a slew of controversy as he was revealed to be the first gay Disney character in their live-action verse, as he falls in love with another man later in the movie.
