Beatmania Lands on WonderSwan

Konami beats Beatmania to death, puts latest version of the popular music game on Bandai's WonderSwan handheld.

If you've got a good thing going, beat it into the ground. Or at least with Konami's Beatmania, you beat it into people's heads so they can't get away.

In the US we've never seen a version of the game (and the PlayStation version's pretty neat if you're into music games), but in Japan there's a version coming for the Game Boy Color and now, for Bandai's WonderSwan.

The WonderSwan is a little bigger than a credit card and plays black and white games either horizontally or vertically. Konami announced that it is bringing the game to WonderSwan in Japan Thursday. While a price has not been determined, it is expected to fall somewhere between 4,000 and 5,000 yen ($35-45). A release date has not been determined either.
