Scotland-based Simian Industries has today revealed that its current project is a PC racing game inspired by the UK's popular Beano comic. Beanotown Racing, which is currently scheduled for release in the UK on November 7, will feature characters and locales from DC Thomson's Beano and Dandy comics.

Beanotown Racing will feature 10 playable characters in total, including such long-serving favorites as Dennis the Menace, Korky the Cat, Bananaman, Rodger the Dodger, Desperate Dan, and Plug from the Bash Street Kids. Each of the characters will race in their own unique vehicle and will be able use weapons such as heat-seeking tomatoes, spinning cow pies, slippy nanaskins, and snappy mousetraps. Each of the six race circuits in the game will be based on a different Beano or Dandy location, and Simian Industries has stated that podium finishes and championship victories will be rewarded with bonus content of some description.

No North American release for Beanotown Racing has been confirmed at this time. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
