Battlefield Game With "Crazy" Ideas Teased By DICE LA

DICE LA, under Titanfall boss Vince Zampella's leadership, is working on a Battlefield game.

It's not a huge surprise, but it's been confirmed that DICE LA is contributing to the development of a new Battlefield game, but whether or not it's this holiday's game or a different one remains to be seen.

Developer Justin Wiebe of DICE LA confirmed this on Twitter (via MP1st), asking his followers to guess which franchise he's working on and then making it very clear: "Correct! It's Battlefield for the win," Wiebe said.

In another tweet, Wiebe said, "It's wondrous I get to work on a game I fell in love with almost 20 years ago! I look forward to hearing from all of you what you loved and hope for in a future Battlefield game."

Wiebe said he particularly enjoyed the "sandbox" nature of Battlefield 1942, but whether or not this is a tease for what to expect from a new Battlefield game is unknown. For what it's worth, Wiebe also doesn't specifically state that he's working on 2021's Battlefield game as opposed to a different title in the series.

Wiebe, who is a senior design director at DICE LA, said in his Twitter bio that he's working on developing something "crazy" for the Battlefield series.

DICE LA has been a support studio for the main team in Sweden, contributing to different elements of the Battlefield franchise over the years. Recently, Titanfall boss Vince Zampella became the new head of DICE LA, announcing that he planned to expand the studio and have the team work on an original game in addition to its other duties.

The next Battlefield game is coming this holiday for next-gen consoles and PC. Publisher Electronic Arts recently announced that this game will offer "all-out military warfare" and support more players than ever before for the Battlefield series. It won't be long until we learn more, as EA will announce the game officially this Spring.
