Battlefield 5: Into The Jungle: Release Date, New Solomon Islands Map, Commander, And More
The jungle is a terrifying place, as DICE's new update trailer demonstrates.
DICE recently began teasing its Battlefield 5 "Into the Jungle" update, and now the full trailer has given us details on what to expect. The update will come on February 6 to PC, PS4, and Xbox One, and it includes a new map, cosmetics, weapons, and commanders--with tank customization also on the way. Here's what you can look forward to in the free update next week.
The centerpiece of the update is Solomon Islands, a new map that takes place (obviously) primarily in a jungle setting. It will be available in Breakthrough, Conquest, Squad Conquest, and Team Deathmatch modes. The trailer shows lots of the lush new setting and warns you to "expect a grind in certain parts of the map."
The update will add a handful of new weapons: the Type-11 MG for support, MT Carbine for assault, M1A1 Bazooka, and Lunge Mine. You can also earn new cosmetics, and a new Japanese commander, Misaki, is unlockable at rank 40. The video teases that two more commanders will be coming later in this chapter.
This is the sixth "chapter" of Battlefield 5, which has meant a steady stream of updates with free maps, cosmetics, and weapons. DICE has already announced plans to bring a new Battlefield game to next-generation consoles.
