Battlefield 4 server rental coming to consoles, no word on pricing

I rented a 500% gulf of oman server for 6 months straight on BF3. Me and my buddies got raped on a weekly basis by other clans and such. Not once did I drop the ban hammer though (not for that reason anyway...). You find that those servers are the 48 hour passes where kids spend their pocket money on to play god for a couple of days. My server stayed full daily because everyone knew me and the other admins well and we were fair game.

Dont worry about bad servers, you will get them, but thats why they added the favourites tab, so you can find good respectable and mature admins and a server that you know is always up and running. The DICE servers will still be there. But its nice to change it up a bit, nice long games, just the way BF2 used to be (the PC version) "good times!"

Finally!! Yess!! I was getting bored of small ticket matches. Can't wait to get more than 100 kills in a match!

Private matches anyone, it's free in COD , you can even play against bots , FREE . Why do EA and Dice treat you BF4 fans so bad?

Have fun... EA will use this to shut down most of its own servers, and you'll be left with one map and 500% tickets.

Also, be extra careful that you're not accidentally better than the owners or they might kick you.

When this comes out,here's what you gonna have to pay : 1-your internet provider,2-buy the game,3-pay online service for the console,4-server rental,5-buy DLC 's so you don't feel left out. Godspeed.

EA is literally seeing how far they can push everyone.

The company must be in trouble, because no entity can be this reckless, tone deaf, gamer unfriendly, arrogant, and completely dismissive of their customers indefinitely.

Maybe they are just going as insane as they can until they finally burn down.

So you have to pay money to play a game that is broken. Then you have to pay for a live subscription to play the broken game online. But, than you have to pay to use the online servers to get decent performance, though it will probably still suck. Then there is DLC to pay for too. Gaming doesn't seem so great anymore.

Getting kicked for using shotguns was my favorite feature from BF3, thanks DICE.

finally I can play with my friends on the same team in the same squad without having to wait an entire match. still sucks that we have to pay for it though.

I guess the pilots are gonna ban the Stingers/Iglia again, whooopeee -_-

I thought PC gaming was free.

I would rather pay a technical designer to fix the game to a playable level.

The audacity of EA charging for more shit after their servers don't even work half the time. I didn't buy BF4 because nearly everyone know I told me how they can't get into a game.

so they have servers that constantly make trouble on a regular basis and now they want to rent servers...what could possibly go wrong

Not to be that guy but, if Im already paying for PSN+ or Xbox Live, things like these should be free to do since Im already paying to access the internet I'm already paying for anyway.

Yup this is what ruined BF3 on consoles for me once the rent a servers hit the game tanked hard. Why? cause the official servers vanish completely and then youre stuck playing on servers with mad stupid rules and admins. Kills someone in their clan you get the boot. Use a knife boot. You dont like playing 300,000 ticket? games oh well your in for the long haul here. Only thing youre allowed to do is stand still and die. I still stand by this being an amazing shady tactic by EA.

Wow the backlash from this is surprising. I think this is a great feature that will add a sense of community to console games. I hope more console games do this. I always preferred being in a community of regulars on PC than just playing with random people I won't see again.

What they don't mention is servers are only provided by a few select companies hand picked by EA. There used to be a plethora of server companies you could rent from in their past games... not any more though, only the companies who are in bed with EA are supported!

This is why I avoid EA products
