Battlefield 4 Second Assault DLC out for Xbox One at launch

The Second Assault digital expansion for Battlefield 4 will be available on Xbox One when the next-generation console launches on November 22, Electronic Arts has announced. The content will be released on other platforms later.

Second Assault features four "fan-favorite" maps from Battlefield 3 updated using the Frostbite 3 engine. The content was announced during Microsoft's E3 2013 presentation and will be featured in the upcoming Battlefield 4: Showdown event.

The expansion is one of five add-ons for Battlefield 4 included with the $50 Battlefield 4 Premium membership. Members receive access to all Battlefield 4 expansions two weeks ahead of non-subscribers, and also get priority position in server queues and exclusive double XP events, among other bonuses.

Battlefield 4 launches on October 29 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. The PlayStation 4 version arrives on November 12, while the Xbox One iteration hits November 19. A beta for the game began last week and runs through October 15.

@Atrax2k8 Actually it does happen. A lot of people buy day on DLC, and then come into an EA comment section and whine about how EA invaded their house, put a gun to their heads, and forced them to pay for it.

Or at least that's how they act.

I feel bad for DICE, they are such good developers, but you just know that everything they do regarding DLC is because EA got them by a leash.

but at the same time i wonder... who really got who by the balls? because DICE basically saved EA through 2012 because Battlefield 3 was such a hit, and all the new EA games titles are running on DICE technology- Frostbite 3.0...

and now let us all close our eyes and imagine if DICE were independent... imagine a Battlefield game with full mod support, a stream of free expansions and constant support. now open your eyes and look at the horrible reality in front of you.

@wizzzer_thy_133 Anyone who has played BF3 would question that. BF1942 and nam were good games, even BF2 was good. BF2142 was good with horrible implementation. BC1 and 2 also good - BF3, god no. BF4 is slightly better so far.

@elcucha @wizzzer_thy_133 The Witcher 1 and 2. Their Enhanced versions were pretty much complete expansion packs and they were completely free.

Terraria has seen multiple, expansion pack sized updates for no extra charge.
