The game is the sequel to Battlecruiser 3000AD, a space sim released in 1996 known for its ambitious design and numerous bugs. Battlecruiser Millennium will feature a number of improvements on the previous game, including new graphics, sound, and artificial intelligence. The game will include more than 250 space and planetary units, 12 different races, and six full career modes. In addition, Battlecruiser Millennium will feature an advanced character animation system that supports location-based hit detection. The multiplayer mode will support up to 16 players over LAN and Internet connections.
