2 million is a big number, but it pales in comparison to another recent high-profile beta. Ubisoft's open beta for The Division attracted 6.4 million players, which the publisher said was a record for a new IP.

In a blog post today, 2K shared some further statistics about the beta. From April 13-18, players completed 1.1 million competitive multiplayer matches and 1.4 million story mode episodes. Additionally, players collected 27 billion Shards.

For their achievements, players will be rewarded with three "golden" character skins when Battleborn launches on May 3. These are ISIC, Benedict, and Shayne & Aurox. No images were shared for these.
