Battle Isle: DarkSpace Delayed

We receive a new release schedule from the German publisher Blue Byte.

Comments

Blue Byte has sent us an updated release schedule listing five of its upcoming games. Though most of the release dates listed were in line with previous estimates, the massively multiplayer action-strategy game Battle Isle: DarkSpace has been pushed back to Q2 2001 from a previously scheduled release in Q1 2001. The game is in development at Texas-based Palestar. According to Blue Byte, the reason for the delay is that the project leader for DarkSpace has been devoting his time to fine-tuning the Blue Byte game channel. The game channel will host all of Blue Byte's multiplayer games, including Battle Isle: DarkSpace.

The other release dates listed were expected. The strategy game Battle Isle: The Andosia War is scheduled for release December 1. As noted in the company's previous announcement, the real-time strategy game The Settlers IV has been pushed back to early 2001, and the upcoming World War II combat flight simulation IL-2 Sturmovik is also scheduled for a Q1 2001 release. Dragon's Lair 3D, a modern remake of the classic arcade game, remains on track for release in Q2 2001.
