Batman is back for Telltale Games. The developer announced a new five-part episodic adventure game called Batman: The Enemy Within - The Telltale Series for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and mobile devices.

The game will be the second Batman series from Telltale, and your decisions from the first game, Batman: The Telltale Series, will optionally carry over into The Enemy Within (although the developer makes it clear the new game is a standalone product). The game is rendered to look like a "living, breathing comic book," and like other Telltale games it will feature narrative gameplay where the player guides Batman's choices and actions. Telltale's multiplayer Crowd Play feature will return too, allowing you play with others via their mobile devices.

Check out Telltale's latest video below, where the developer also announced new seasons of The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead.

"The Riddler has returned to terrorize Gotham City, but his gruesome puzzles merely foreshadow an even greater crisis. With the arrival of a ruthless federal agent and the return of a still nascent Joker, Batman must navigate uneasy alliances while Bruce Wayne undertakes a perilous series of deceptions," reads Telltale's announcement. "Which of Batman's new allies will you choose to trust? And how deep into the darkness will you let Bruce descend?"

The first episode, called Enigma, will launch digitally on August 8. Xbox One and PS4 players can also buy a special Season Pass disc at retailers, which includes the first episode of the season as well as download access to the subsequent four episodes as they're released.

Gotta say it... Batman was my least favorite of the telltale games I've ever played. It felt so unnecessary playing as Batman in this format with no real choices or consequences to be had (besides "THAT" one near the beginning). The only real (and entertaining) choices to be had is deciding to play the game as an inept and bumbling Batman ala Adam West, or serious, tough as nails Batman. I implore anyone who has never played a Telltale game to play literally any other game they offer before going near Batman.

When it comes to Telltale games, I usually just watch them on Youtube. The gameplay is the most boring part of the game but I sure as hell enjoy watching Batman just for the story cause I find the whole Bruce parents was a set up murder then random theft shooting accident.

And so with that, I'll be looking forward continuing Batman since the last one left a cliffhanger.

jesus. telltale is out of control. notice how as they pump these games out at an alarming rate, the quality of the productions has gone down the shitter? i would argue telltale has not developed a game on the level of walking dead season 1 since... well, walking dead season 1 lol. telltale needs to let go of some of its ip and focus on no more than 3 core franchises at a time, otherwise they will destroy themselves.

@Xristophoros: 1 or 2 games a year at most. But look at 2017 Guardians of the galaxy, Minecraft story mode season 2, finished walking dead a new frontier, more batman and who knows what else they'll release this fall madness.
