Batman saves wiped following Games for Windows migration
Players who purchased Batman: Arkham City or Arkham Asylum outside of Steam will need to start a new game, Warner Bros. confirms.
Some Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City players will need to start over on PC.
As a result of the forthcoming closure of Microsoft's Games for Windows Live service, Warner Bros. is moving Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City to Steam for verification and update services, the developer said this week.
Players who purchased either game on Steam can download a patch and play without interruption. Meanwhile, those who bought the game elsewhere will also need to download the patch, but it will wipe all current saves, necessitating that players start over on a new game.
Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are on sale this weekend for $5 and $7.50, respectively. Upcoming game Batman: Arkham Origins will bypass Games for Windows Live altogether.
