The game's PC launch was plagued by a host of problems, which lead to the game being voluntarily taken off the Steam store, and eventually restricted from retail sale in some regions. Following the emergence reported issues, co-developer Rocksteady announced that it was working "like crazy" to fix the problems. Graphics card manufacturer NVIDIA also pitched in to help fix issues.

The game recently got an update in the form of DLC titled Challenge Pack #6; check out our full post to see what the DLC pack added to the game. Prior to the release of Challenge Pack #6, Warner Bros. released the Season of Infamy DLC which added new missions and iconic DC Comics characters including The Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Ra's Al Ghul, and Mr. Freeze.

Batman: Arkham Knight was originally released on June 23 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The PC version of the game was ported by a team at Iron Galaxy Studios, which previously worked on the PC port of Batman: Arkham Origins.

It ran relatively fine for me and was more than playable on high settings. The only major issue I couldn't ignore was the fps drop when getting in/out of the Batmobile. The root of the problem for me was the game just wasn't that fun for me. I got bored sometime about 75% through, quit, and never picked it back up. Arkham City was far better.

is what happens when you rather have pretty graphics than actually spending time on gameplay and programming.

Not surprised with that move considering the pile of tripe they released for PC

Considering the amount of pc piracy ( atleast 90%) no wonder WB doesn't give a sh*t about pc.

@hermitkiller: 90% was a nice round number to pull out of your ass so as not to cause bleeding, I take it? By the way, most pirated games are available for the Xboned even before PC nowdays.

@lordzorvan: I know, console games are pirated in bigger numbers than pc equivalent.....facepalm x 10000000

@hermitkiller: False Equivalency . Don't even try to sell people on WB pulled this crap because of PC piracy. Tha't s completely separate argument and has no business being used as an excuse in this situation.

You might as well blame Obama for the game being trash.

thats too bad, it was such a fun game. I played through the whole thing without glitches and at 60fps. Game was like a movie. Sorry to anyone who wasn't able to play it through

They should've done this much sooner... And for every platform

Too bad it ever launched for the PC. Mac/Linux users dodged a bullet here.

Lol the game barely ran on powerhouse PCs, what kind of fool would have a high-end Mac capable of running this? That'd be like a paraplegic buying the world's best running shoes.

Do you guys remember when Rockstar kept delaying the PC version of GTA 5 long after it had already made it to all the consoles. And most of the comments were "Wow Rockstar doesn't care about PC" and "It's obviously done they just want as much console sales as possible. I'm pirating it now, never buying another game from these people again" and "It's been too long. I don't care about this game anymore. Screw you Rockstar." Then when it finally released it was a great port. Well this is the other side of the coin. If Warner Bros delayed Arkham Knight like they should have they probably would have gotten a lot of hate for supporting consoles first and what not, but at least their reputation would be intact for the most part.

Long Story Short: Delays, especially for PC, can be a good thing. So don't always assume the worst when they happen.

Avatar image for chitownjedi

@moose-fitz: Nope.. I don't remember that at all. I actually remember people praising them for delaying it and stating that they wanted a more polished experience... and Rockstar specifically releasing information to that point, a long with trailers and videos of their progress to give fans something to look forward too. So no I don't remember people flipping out and saying Rockstar doesn't care about PC because of GTA 5 delays.. not at all. And I was paying attention very closely.

Now I do remember people saying Rockstar doesn't care about PC because they didn't release a Red Dead Redemption Port, and after years of begging and pleading, the nail in the coffin was about as brutal as they came.

Who assumes that delays means its going to be for the worse? I don't know who you interact with, but for years now I believe the vast majority of serious gamers prefer a game to be delayed to fix up bugs, glitches than have games released with 20GB patches on day one and barely playable... Thanks for the Wisdom though.

Probably was going to be a bigger train wreck than the PC version was. Thank you Valve for stepping in and punishing Warner Brothers' anti-consumer business practices.

Arkham Knight in its current state (fully patched) is definitely playable. I have it running at a very solid 60 fps (never drops below) at console settings at 1080p. The console graphics were already beautiful, so you don't have to run the game at higher settings. And 60 fps is double the amount you get with a console. So yeah, I'm happy I got the PC version. Haven't run into any bugs.

worst game of the series, even origin is better, combined with one of the worst pc port ever.... Kinda sad that Rocksteady made such a low quality game to end a wonderful series and I,m sad that WB didnt care enough about pc.

Avatar image for NoahRoalson

@El_Zaggy: I actually disagree. Origins lost me fairly quickly and the bosses were absolutely awful. Knight has issues but overall I've enjoyed it much more.

Oh No, Please Warner Bros Release this Piece of Crap on other OS as well. no Seriously feel free to do it, Im gonna change to Linux from Windows so I can buy this again Again and Refund and GET NO MONEY BACK. I THINK Everyone just DO That? right?

Avatar image for billzihang

It does actually work a lot better, and for me now it runs pretty much the standard (60fps 1440, 30fps 4k-- 980 ti). The product itself couldn't really be said to be broken now. However, it was shameful the release state, and indeed the length of time it was broken for.

We might see some PC versions of certain games vanish in future-- the highest chance being Mortal Kombat devs, and then a chance of Rocksteady.

Can't say I'm surprise, Arkham Knight wasn't as good as Arkham City to begin with.

Avatar image for Zorlac

@davillain-: this has nothing to do with the quality of the game and everything to do with the actual PC port of the game.

Avatar image for mikemurphy80
mikemurphy80

@Zorlac: Actually, it has everything to do with the ineptness of the development team who can't figure out how to do the jobs they're paid to do.

Avatar image for Zorlac

@mikemurphy80: Which again is nothing to do with the quality of the game and everything to do with the port in this case.

Avatar image for davillain-

@Zorlac: I know, I wanted to point that out though. My PC run for Arkham Knight but I had to lower the framerates to keep the game from crashing on me and I did had a few hiccups but nothing major to get me piss off. Just that the game was disappointing for me personally.

[sorry I didn't respond soon, I didn't get the notification until I re-enter this article and saw the reply. Damn glitchspot]

@mikemurphy80: it's interesting that u say that cos it's been said to me before. My friend said "u obviously get paid too much!" but the thing is, he would go out every week on a night out with a couple of friends and spend £70 every week. Compared to me who probably spent £40 every 3 weeks on a game. I think he's the one who's overpaid

Avatar image for lonewolf1044

@peterhorner1867: Same here and I have over 3000 games for the PC in the form of 3.5 disks and CD/DVD that most of the games I brought back in the day I never got to play. I buy them and hope I will get to it one day. However the older games I have to use emulators like DOSbox to get to work.

I am seeing that it still doesn't work on Windows either, they should just cancel the bad PC port.

The reviews on steam are still very negative even after that new update .

@mikemurphy80: Yeeeeaaaahhh this is embarrassing....because see I have a GTX 970, its not even OCd and the game at its current condition runs almost flawlessly, you clearly don't have a clue what you are talking about, and also never claimed you own a console, fail harder lol.

Avatar image for mikemurphy80

@Dark_sageX: whats embarrassing is how you keep completely missing my original point. Which is beautifully illustrated by this latest post. So let me make it again, maybe you'll be able to pull your head out of your ass long enough to see it. You with your 970 having no issues with the game =/= Everyone having no issues with the game. Dumbed down enough for you?
