Batman 2 announced
Ubi Soft announces that it will release a sequel to Batman: Vengeance on multiple console platforms next year.
Ubi Soft has today announced that its Montreal studio is working on a sequel to the animated-series-inspired Batman: Vengeance, which was released for the PC recently and on all current console platforms last year. Currently known only by the working title of Batman 2, the sequel will be an arcade-style action game in which players will get to use an arsenal of cutting-edge Batman gadgets to combat Gotham City's nastiest villains.
"After the success of Batman: Vengeance, the popular Batman franchise will continue to make strides in the gaming world with a sequel," said Philippe Erwin, vice president of interactive entertainment for Warner Bros. Consumer Products. "The game's release on multiple platforms should extend Batman's reach to video game fans around the world."
Batman 2 is currently scheduled for a fall 2003 release on multiple console platforms. Ubi Soft currently isn't willing to confirm exactly which platforms the game is being developed for, but today's press release makes no mention whatsoever of a PC version. We'll bring you more news on the game as it becomes available.
