Barbie Releases Digitally September 5, Blu-Ray Preorders Live Now
Return to Barbie Land next month when the film becomes available to stream.
You'll be able to return to Barbie Land in a few short weeks. The Margot Robbie-led Barbie film has proven to be a massive critical and commercial hit, surpassing The Dark Knight as the biggest Warner Bros. movie ever at the US box office. If you're interested in watching Barbie from comfort of your own home, preorders for the upcoming 4K digital release of the film are available ahead of its September 5 release. Blu-ray preorders also just went live.
Over on Amazon, you can secure your digital copy of the film for $20. A release date for physical Blu-ray editions hasn't been revealed, but you can preorder Barbie on 4K Blu-ray for $30 and Blu-ray for $25 (both editions come with digital copies).
In case you've missed all the buzz around it, Barbie is directed by Greta Gerwig and asks what would happen if the iconic doll began to suffer an existential crisis. With her seemingly perfect world crumbling down around her, Barbie has to travel to the real world to find answers. Alongside Ken--just one of many variants who live in Barbie Land, Barbie learns a few hard truths along the way as she discovers the joys and perils of living among humans.
Barbie also stars Ryan Gosling, America Ferrera, Will Ferrell, Emma Mackey, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Michael Cera, and John Cena as a mermaid Ken. No, really.
