Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal announced

Black Isle Studios, the role-playing game division of Interplay, and BioWare have announced their upcoming expansion pack to the popular role-playing game Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn. The expansion is titled Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, and it will add new locations, spells, and characters to the original game. According to BioWare, the expansion pack is the final conclusion of the Baldur's Gate legend, and it will let players will fulfill their destiny as the child of Bhaal.

The expansion pack will include several new areas, including the dungeon of Watcher's Keep, the city of Saradush, the fortified monastery of Amkethran, Sendai's Underdark Fortress, and the Abyssal Stronghold. The experience limit will be raised to 8 million, which will let players reach level 40. In addition, more than 40 new high-level spells and abilities are included in the expansion.

Throne of Bhaal will require the original game in order to run. Players will be able to adventure in the new locations featured in the game both before and after they have completed the storyline of Baldur's Gate II. Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal is scheduled for release this summer.
