Interplay has announced that it has signed an agreement to give Texas-based United Developers the publishing rights for five games on the Macintosh platform, including Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn and Icewind Dale. The agreement also gives United Developers the exclusive rights to the MacPlay trademark and MacPlay.com domain name. MacPlay was formed in the early '90s as the Macintosh division of Interplay, and it is now headed by Ron Dimant, the president and CEO of United Developers and the CEO of Ritual Entertainment. The company will debut three Macintosh games this holiday season, and it will release Baldur's Gate II and Icewind Dale in early 2001.
