Black Isle has announced that Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance will be released for the GameCube later this year. Snowblind Studios' PlayStation 2 game has sold 500,000 copies since its release late last year. Dark Alliance is an action-oriented game with the same setting as the PC Baldur's Gate games. It features some traditional RPG elements, such as experience points and skill-based character advancement, but fast-paced combat is the main focus of the game.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance is scheduled to ship simultaneously for the Xbox and GameCube in mid-November. For more details, check out our full review of the PS2 version of the game and our coverage of the full review and full review versions.
