Baldur's Gate 3 has been in early access for more than two years, but that period will finally end next year. During The Game Awards, Larian Studios announced that Baldur's Gate 3 will officially launch in August 2023, and the news came with a new trailer and a look at the game's enormous collector's edition.

The trailer for the game gives us a look at the titular Baldur's Gate city, as well as the return of the characters Minsc and Jaheira. It has been more than two decades since fans have seen them, which in video game industry time is practically 200 years.

Alongside the trailer, Larian also showed off the game's $270 collector's edition, which comes with a large battle diorama of Drow and Mindflayer. It also includes a hardcover artbook, an oversized D20 made out of zinc alloy, D&D character sheets, stickers, a cloth map, a tadpole keyring, Magic: The Gathering booster packs, and a certificate of authenticity. The collector's edition is limited to 25,000 units and is available to preorder on the game's official website.

Baldur's Gate 3 will continue to receive updates while in early access, including Patch 9, which will feature a new playable class. The patch will be further detailed during the Panel From Hell: Holy Knight on December 14, which will also feature The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley.
