PS4 players get it first.

Marvel's Avengers game is getting a pre-release beta, and if you own a PlayStation 4, you're in luck. Thanks to an exclusivity arrangement between Sony and publisher Square Enix, PS4 owners will be getting some exclusives in regards to both the beta and the full game.

PS4 users will get a crack at the superhero team-up game before anyone else, Square Enix announced at its E3 2019 conference. The beta will be released on PS4 before other platforms, while the full game will offer "unique benefits" to those playing on PS4. At this point, it's unclear what those benefits will be or if they'll eventually release for other platforms. Square Enix and PlayStation say they are working together for "awesome surprises" for the PS4 edition of the game.

Pre-ordering gets you into the beta. There is no word as to when the beta will begin or what it will contain. We've found out via the Square Enix online store that the beta will be available seven days early on PS4.

Marvel's Avengers launches on May 15, 2020. But its release is just the beginning, as Square Enix says fans can expect a regular stream of new content over time, including new, free playable characters. Those who are in the game to start have been treated roughly by the internet since the reveal. After that, we got a closer look but still have questions about how the game plays and what it's structure consists of.
