Auto Assault applies brakes; bumped to 2006

Next round of beta-testing invites for massively multiplayer online vehicular combat game go out this fall.

NCsoft's upcoming massively multiplayer online vehicular combat game Auto Assault isn't coming up as soon as expected, according to a post on the official Auto Assault message boards from the game's producer Steven Snow.

"[Auto Assault developer] NetDevil and NCsoft are both companies with a strong commitment to releasing 'only when it's ready,' so we want to extend the beta into the spring of 2006," wrote Snow.

Snow said the extra time will be spent tweaking, tuning, and adding to the game's features. He also added that the latest round of invitations to join the North American beta have all been sent out. However, another round of invitations is expected to coincide with the next major update to the beta, later this fall.
