Aussie PSP price drops
Core price for PSPs Down Under falls to A$279.95 ($230); Platinum title cost also reduced.
It's happened for US and UK gamers, and now it's finally the Aussies' turn. After stating a price drop for the PlayStation Portable wasn't imminent only a few weeks ago, Sony Computer Entertainment Australia (SCEA) has now announced that the PSP will indeed be cheaper Down Under. From today, the core PSP pack will cost A$279.95, down from A$329.95.
The price drop comes after similar reductions in the US and the UK, which saw the PSP's cost fall $30 to $169.99 in the States and down £20 to £129.99 for the Brits. And it's not only the handheld which is dipping its cost--Platinum titles for the PSP will now cost A$29.95, down A$10. To coincide with the new price, SCEA has released five new Platinum titles--Ridge Racer 2, Tekken: Dark Resurrection, Killzone, Loco Roco and Moto GP.
SCEA has also announced a street date for the latest PSP add-on. The PSP Go!Cam--a digital camera attachment that plugs into the PSP's mini-USB slot--will arrive in Australia on June 21 and will retail for A$79.95. The Go!Cam can take still shots, video, and has a built-in microphone to capture audio.
