Aussie game charts: August 31-September 6

Gotham's Dark Knight falls short to a Frisbee dog and fitness game.

Just like the supervillain Bane, Nintendo has broken the back of the caped crusader, at least when it comes to the Australian game charts. Not even Metacritic’s highest-rated game of this year--Batman: Arkham Asylum--could push Nintendo's ultrapopular Wii games from the number one and two places, respectively, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

Batman still had a pretty strong first week of sales, debuting in the third and fourth place on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, respectively, for the week of August 31-September 6. In the middle of the charts we've got the usual assortment of Wii Play and Brain Training, with Ashes Cricket 2009 on the PS3 closing out the week at number 10.
