Aussie game charts: August 20-26

BioShock takes the top spot down under.

2K Games' hotly anticipated BioShock for the Xbox 360 has leapt straight to the number one spot in the overall game charts, according to data trackers GfK Australia.

Sony's latest karaoke game, SingStar '90s, dropped down a position from the previous week to number two, followed closely by the SingStar '90s bundle at number three. The PC version of BioShock also did quite well, landing at number four. The Guitar Hero 2 bundle for PS2, which has been absent from the overall game charts for several months, has reappeared in eighth spot. Finally, Blizzard's popular MMO World of Warcraft took out the final position in the overall game charts.

The PS3 saw a new entry into its platform-specific chart for the week of August 20-26, with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2. The game debuted at number one, knocking last week's number one, Transformers: The Game, to number three.
