Aussie emulation mash-up Nov. 11

While you might not be able to fathom the idea of buying any more games in the wake of the recent influx, that doesn't mean there aren't any more incoming. Over on Xbox Live Arcade this week comes a space-themed twin-stick shooter called Fusion: Genesis. From the outset, this might look like your run-of-the-mill multidirectional shooter, but there's actually a bit of depth to it, with trading and leveling elements. Fusion: Genesis can also talk to your Windows 7 phone, importing data from the companion-title Fusion: Sentient.

The PlayStation Network Store plays catch-up with Xbox Live Arcade this week, with Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone arriving two weeks late after its Xbox debut. In case you've forgotten what it's about, Zombie Apocalypse Never: Die Alone is a top-down shooter featuring zombies. Think Geometry Wars meets Left 4 Dead.

Other worthy mentions out on the PlayStation Network Store this week include Monopoly Street, Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, and a demo for the highly anticipated release of Rayman Origins.

It's another quiet week for the Wii, with Nintendo focusing on the 3DS virtual storefronts. The 3DS Virtual Console gets Side Pocket, which is a pool game that wasn't very good back in the day and probably isn't any better now. As for brand new original games, Freakyforms: Your Creations, Alive! finds itself at home on the 3DS eShop. Aimed mainly at the kids, Freakyforms allows you to draw and create your own creatures and then navigate 2D levels.
