AU Shippin' Out July 19-23: Sniper: Ghost Warrior

With Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty just a week away, there's only a trickle of games releasing down under.

You either love or hate camping, but if you pick up this week's Sniper: Ghost Warrior, expect to be doing a lot of it. As the name suggests, you play the role of a sniper who has been sent into a suffering nation to support the rebels, who are trying to overthrow the evil dictator. Given that this game is all about shooting enemies from afar, you'll be required to take into account wind and distance when calculating your shots, making it a bit more complex than your average shooter. Keep an eye out for Sniper: Ghost Warrior when it is released on Thursday.

The third game in the 11-year-old Disciples franchise, Disciples III: Renaissance, also sees the light of day this Thursday. The last time a Disciples game came out was in 2002, so Renaissance marks the first time a game in the series is playable fully in 3D and also introduces three new races into the mix. How does this reboot of an old role-playing game series hold up? Judge for yourself when it's released this week.

Next week sees a huge release hit Aussie shelves, as Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty is unleashed into the wild. GameSpot AU will be up in Queensland for the official Starcraft II launch on Monday night, so stay tuned.
