Captain America and Harry Potter jump from the big screen to home consoles this week.

If it's not a movie-related game, then it isn't getting a retail release this week, because the only two titles coming out are linked to big blockbuster films. The first, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, sticks to the tried-and-true formula of third-person action that has dominated the seven previous games. In case you're unfamiliar with the Harry Potter universe, this game follows the final confrontation between Harry and Lord Voldemort. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is due out a day after the movie, arriving on the 14th of July on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, and DS.

Captain America: Super Soldier is also a third-person action game; however, it's not directly tied to the plot of the film. Instead, Sega has opted to bring on renowned comic writer Christos Gage to pen a completely new plot for the game. The first Avenger's target remains the Nazis, but the setting is slightly different, and he's going after more than just Red Skull. Keep an eye out for Captain America: Super Soldier when it arrives on Thursday for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and Nintendo DS.

Aside from Captain America: Super Soldier and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, it's a quiet week with nothing else coming out. Next week sees the release of Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon and Call of Juarez: The Cartel, while the rest of July is pretty slow with no major releases.
