Ever since its infamous 2005 debut trailer, Killzone 2 has been one of the most anticipated games for the PlayStation 3. Following the events of the first game and Killzone: Liberation for the PSP, KZ2 sends you to the frontlines as a Special Forces leader as you take on hordes of Helghast during the invasion of Helghan. Single-player mode aside, KZ2 also features an in-depth multiplayer mode, shipping with eight maps that support up to 32 players. Expect to see Killzone 2 in stores around Australia on Thursday.

Although not as critically acclaimed as Sony's flagship FPS, Halo Wars is still one of the 360's biggest games this quarter. Starting off life as a project to create an intuitive control scheme for a console real-time strategy game, Ensemble Studios' generic console RTS eventually found a home in the Halo universe, taking place 20 years prior to Halo. Halo Wars will be the final game to be released under the Ensemble Studios banner when it lands on the 26th.

The final big game for this week is Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop. Despite essentially being a port of the 2006 Xbox 360 title, the game tells the story of photojournalist Frank West as he gets besieged in a shopping mall in a small American town, which Capcom swears wasn't inspired by George A. Romero. Despite having less zombies onscreen, a few of the new additions include Wii Remote-specific controls, reworked in-game clock and save system, as well as text that's now readable on standard-def TVs. Dead Rising: Chop Til You Drop will be the second Capcom game to be distributed by THQ in Australia when it arrives midweek.
