Ubisoft has completed development on Assassin's Creed Odyssey. A tweet from the game's official account confirms that the game has now "gone gold," which means development on the base game is wrapped up.

"We hope you'll be enjoying playing the game as much as we did developing it and can't wait to see which paths you'll choose," reads a line from Ubisoft's tweet.

The line about choosing a distinct path is surely a reference to Odyssey's new position as more of an RPG, featuring branching dialogue options. For more on Odyssey's new dialogue options and other new features, you can check out GameSpot's new preview here.

While development on Odyssey's base game may be complete, Ubisoft is likely still at work on the game's numerous post-release offerings. There will be lots of free and paid extra content for game coming in 2018 and beyond, including more story content, and even a remaster of Assassin's Creed III.

No new Assassin's Creed game is coming in 2019, so Odyssey and its add-on content will be everything that fans will get over the next year. For more on Odyssey, which comes out on October 5, check out all of GameSpot's previous written and video coverage here.
