Assassin's Creed Movie Offers $1,200 Ticket Package, Here's What It Includes

The Assassin's Creed movie doesn't open until December and no trailers for it have been released yet. But if you're definitely interested in seeing the film, you can now pre-order a ticket from Kernel. This isn't simply an advance ticket sale opportunity, however, as Kernel is offering packages that includes extras such as a digital copy of the movie's script, toys and clothing, and even a replica of a 15th century crossbow.

$15 is the cheapest package and it comes with a movie ticket, as well as the script, an Assassin's Creed-branded watch, temporary tattoos for main characters Aguillar and Maria, and some "behind-the-scenes extras." Other packages include a film ticket and script, in addition to a t-shirt ($30), hidden blade toy ($60), Assassin's Creed hoodie ($120), Aguillar scale statue ($600), and a replica of the crossbow seen in the movie ($1,200).

The 18-inch crossbow is an exact 1:1 scale replica of the weapon you'll see in the film during a "pivotal scene." It features Assassin's Creed motifs and scenes from medieval Spain. It was designed by Hollywood weapons craftsman Tim Wildgoose (Troy, Edge of Tomorrow) and only 20 are being made.

Additionally, buying any package gets you ten entries into a special contest for a chance to win a trip for two to San Diego Comic-Con.

"We've curated bundles at all levels but the most important item included in each purchase is the ticket," Kernel co-founder Andy Martinez said in a statement. "That's the shared piece that binds and connects all of us as Assassin's Creed fans since the day we first plugged into the Animus and thought to ourselves, 'Wow, this would make a great movie!'"

Video game movies have a track record of mediocrity, but some are saying Assassin's Creed, with its high-profile talent and Ubisoft's commitment to creative some control, could help reverse the trend.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot recently said the movie's "all-star" cast (Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, Jeremy Irons, and Brendan Gleeson), its "outstanding" director Justin Kurzel, along with its production partners, give the film a chance to become one of year's biggest hits.

Additionally, because there is no new mainline Assassin's Creed game coming this year, the movie's marketing team has more space and opportunity to promote the film.

Indeed, the casting for the Assassin's Creed movie is impressive. Cotillard is an Oscar-winner and Fassbender has been nominated multiple times. Kurzel's latest movie, Macbeth, which also starred Fassbender and Cotillard in the lead roles, received a generally positive critical response. None of this guarantees Assassin's Creed will break the trend of video game movies not being very good, of course.

Assassin's Creed opens on December 21, 2016, one week after Star Wars spinoff Rogue One is released. The movie finished filming in January and is now in post-production.

Plans are reportedly already in place for a sequel, with Fassbender planning to return.
