Assassin's Creed movie coming May 2015, says report
Upcoming video game adaptation to feature Michael Fassbender in starring role.
A new report suggests that the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie could reach cinemas on May 22, 2015.
An update on Box Office Mojo pegs the May 2015 release date. The in-production movie stars Michael Fassbender in a lead role, and a screenplay penned by Michael Lesslie.
Lesslie previously penned the Hamlet prequel Prince of Denmark for the theatre. The play features a teenage Hamlet, Ophelia, and Laertes and their exploits around Elsinore castle.
Details about the film's director and supporting cast are still unknown.
Ubisoft announced in October 2012 that it has "fast-tracked" the movie and partnered with production outfit New Regency.
Last week Ubisoft said that it did not expect this year's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag to match the sales of 2012's Assassin's Creed III.
