Assassin's Creed Mirage - Find The Hidden Place In The Calling Mission

During an early Assassin's Creed Mirage mission called The Calling, you'll need to "find the hidden place." Here's what that means.

Comments

Assassin's Creed Mirage may be a shorter and smaller game than the last few that Ubisoft has added to the series, but an early mission to "find the hidden place" might extend the game a bit if you don't know where to look. During a mission called The Calling, you'll need to find this hidden place with few clues, so if you're stuck, follow along here and we'll point you right to it. It's worth doing, too, since it comes with some great weapon and gear rewards.

Assassin's Creed Mirage - find the hidden place location

The hidden place is described as being north of the 'Aqarquf Dunes and is said to feature a "chamber under the oasis." These clues aren't so specific, as you probably agree since you're now reading this guide. Here's what to do:

  • Head to the orange spot on the map below well north of the city. Sync the highpoint so you can return there quickly on future occasions, then seek the body of water to the west of it.
  • Dive into the water, then down, looking for an underwater tunnel.
  • When you come up for air, pass through the crack in the wall, perform a few quick freerunning feats, and you'll find yourself inside a vault that looks unlike anything Basim's ever seen with his own eyes--though Assassin's Creed veterans may be more familiar with its futuristic architecture.
The hidden place is within the body of water marked in this map.

Before you will stand three pillars with two, three, and five lights on them respectively. Each one requires you to insert the corresponding number of Shards, which you'll have none of upon first visiting the vault. However, from that point forward, you'll be able to spot Shards hidden in the pockets of secret Order members roaming the city. Below we've marked what that looks like on your compass, so you can know when you're close to a Shard.

To steal their Shards, you can either kill them and their bodyguards or pick their pockets, though the guards should be dispatched in that case, too, or else they'll grow suspicious of you when you approach.

Shards will appear on your compass when you're close to one, and then above the enemy when they're in sight.

You'll need 10 total Shards to open all three locked chambers within the vault. Each one includes a fully upgraded weapon or armor set, which we describe below. While they each look quite intricate and do come with great damage and defensive stats, the loot system in Mirage may mean you ultimately decide not to equip them. That's because each item only has one bonus trait, and you should always pick the weapons and armor with the traits to match your playstyle.

Still, these are some great early-game choices should you elect to put them to use.

Hidden place weapons and armor

For unlocking all three chambers within the hidden place, you'll stake a claim to the following items, with their passive skills explained:

  • Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar sword - Maximum health is lowered by 50%, but damage is increased by 50%
  • The Samsaama dagger - Every fifth hit heals Basim for 10% of his health
  • Milad's Outfit armor - Successful air assassinations set off a flash of lightning to disorient bystanders within a 15-meter radius
Somehow, social stealth remains viable in this wild outfit.

The armor, in particular, has a distinctly futuristic style that is always present in the background of this series. Passersby won't comment on it, but at least you'll know you're a man out of time and space as you patrol ninth-century Baghdad. For more on Assassin's Creed Mirage, don't miss how to solve the book puzzle later in the game.
