Now Playing: The History of Assassin's Creed

Nintendo Switch owners may soon be able to enjoy one of Ubisoft's biggest franchises on their portable systems. According to retailer listings, a new collection of Assassin's Creed titles is coming to Switch in just a couple of weeks.

Czech store Herni-Svet has listed a Switch game titled Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Collection, with a release date of February 15. This follows an earlier product listing from German retailer Media Markt for an Assassin's Creed collection on Switch.

In response to these latest listings, Ubisoft told GameSpot it does not comment on rumors or speculation, though the publisher's CEO, Yves Guillemot, told GameSpot last year that no mainline Assassin's Creed game would launch in 2019. Perhaps this new collection is a way for the company to plug that gap while it works on a brand-new game for next year.

Ubisoft has not yet announced any plans to bring its hit series to Nintendo's portable console, except for last year's Odyssey, which came to Switch as a Japan-exclusive cloud-streaming game. Other than that, the last Assassin's Creed game to launch on a Nintendo console was Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag on Wii U. Assassin's Creed III, the title apparently part of this new Switch port, also came to Wii U. The other apparent Switch title, Liberation, initially launched as a PlayStation Vita exclusive in 2012, before later coming to PS3, Xbox 360, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

YES PLEASE! I'd love that and maybe Watch Dogs! I don't care about looks, just as long as performance is good enough, I can enjoy a good story at home and wherever. I wish companies stopped looking at cloud gaming and looked at being able to bring it anywhere

I've played Black Flag on the 360, the PS4, and 100% it on the Xbox One. I'd buy and play the hell out of it again on the Switch if they released it.

No Assassins Creed(the epidome for your stale high-on-presentation-but-low-on-cool-and-fresh-gameplay-AAA-game), please. The only Assassins Creed game I played that was serviceable, was Black Flag.

I want For Honor for my Switch!

AC3 is one of the weakest AC games. Would rather see Blackflag on switch.

If i traveled often and had plenty of disposable income then yeah i'd rebuy all my games on switch. But I don't and 30 switch games later I don't have any desire to rebuy MOST of my games and would rather play it on my pc or console. But if something like XCOM 2 (with the expansion) ever came to switch then yeah I'll rebuy that day 1!

@Deedubau: Yes. After playing Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle, I would absolutely buy an XCOM game on Switch if they had one. The pick up/put down ability of the Switch really compliments strategy games in my opinion.

The games in the 3 series were kind of a low point for Assassin's Creed

Should have been 2 Series that one was much better
