Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will launch globally on October 29 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Ubisoft has confirmed.

The current-gen versions of the pirate-themed adventure had previously been scheduled to reach European shores on November 1, after an October 31 release in Australia.

Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will still get the game at launch on November 15 (November 29 in Europe) and November 22, respectively.

The PC version of the game was originally scheduled to release alongside the current-gen versions, but was pushed back to the next-gen release.

Ubisoft announced the tweaked release date as part of its latest trailer for the game, which revolves around the life and fortunes of new protagonist Edward Kenway.
