The past few weeks have been slow with high-profile new releases, but this week will end that dry spell. Starting off the onslaught of high-profile game title releases for the next few months is Deus Ex: Human Revolution, the prequel to the action game Deus Ex. Players control half-human/half-robot security agent Adam Jensen as he uncovers a globe-spanning conspiracy involving human augmentation and pro-human terrorists.

The game features multiple paths of solving missions and many augmentation upgrades for Adam to use in different situations. Stay tuned for GameSpot's upcoming review, as well as a Sound Byte spotlighting the game's music composer Michael McCann. In the meantime, gamers can check out the recent Now Playing video featuring the first few moments of the game.

Next up is a video game adaptation of the anime Black * Rock Shooter. Players control a gun-wielding woman named Black Rock Shooter, who is actually merged with the show's other protagonist Mato Kuroi, as they fight their way through a whole new scenario that is different from the anime orchestrated by the show's nemesis Dead Master. The game is a mix of action from a third-person perspective and a turn-based role-playing game that utilizes the heat gauge system. The Japanese version of the game will be out on August 25 for the PSP.

Speaking of RPGs, the 3DS adaptation of 2009's Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor will be out tomorrow. In addition to the original's branching storylines and demon-recruiting and auction system, this enhanced port will add in full voice acting, remastered art, and a few extra scenarios.

Xbox 360 Call of Duty: Black Ops fans will also get the chance to buy a new downloadable content pack called Rezurrection. For 1,200 Microsoft points, players will get five new levels for the game's Zombie mode, a 20-song Zombies soundtrack, and a Moon Xbox 360 theme.

Last but not least, the arcade darling Street Fighter III: Third Strike will get a new iteration that will be downloadable via the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade. This new version of the game features an online mode using GGPO netcoding; Trials mode, which teaches new players the parry system; and visuals tweaking options that let gamers play the game either in original 4:3 or 16:9 widescreen. The downloadable title will be out on August 23 for the PSN and August 24 on XBLA.
