Gamers too intimidated to take the $60 plunge and step into the battlefield in a giant mechanized suit can now see what it's like to pilot one of the heavy-armed suits for free. Sega today released the demo for From Software's Xbox 360 game Armored Core 4.

Released late last month on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, Armored Core 4 sees gamers fighting across battlefields as gigantic robots armed with an array of futuristic weapons. The Xbox 360 demo features three single-player levels and a few mechs to customize and fight with. The download is just under 800MB in size and available in North America. The full version features 35 missions and multiplayer matchups for up to eight players online.

Armored Core 4 is rated T for Teen and retails for $59.99. For more information, read GameSpot's previous coverage.
