Metro3D Europe has today announced that it will publish Armored Core 3 in Europe later this year. The futuristic action game, which was developed by From Software, was released in North America in September last year.

"We are thrilled to have secured the license to Armored Core 3," said Andy Law, general manager, Metro3D Europe. "This game has all the necessary qualities to be a serious contender in the European games charts in 2003."

In Armored Core 3, players assume the role of a raven, a type of futuristic mercenary who pilots a giant robot known as an armored core (AC). In the game's dark version of the future, the world is at the mercy of megacorporations and an omniscient AI construct known as the Controller, which it seems is deliberately manipulating wars between the corporations for unknown reasons. To put the world to rights in the single-player campaign, players will have to complete no less than 50 varied missions from the cockpit of their chosen AC. The game also features a battle mode for up to four players.

Armored Core 3 is scheduled for release in Europe in the second quarter of this year. For more information, check out our full review of the North American version of the game.
