Apple denies paying EA to delay Plants vs. Zombies 2 on Android

Microsoft doesn't have many games made by their own studios. Instead they throw "truckloads" of money at Developers/Publishers for the exclusive rights to their games and content.

Sony and Nintendo do it to a lesser extent since they both have large pools of high quality first party developers.

If Apple was to make a move like this it wouldn't be surprising.

More work went into that trailer than ever went into the game itself. Always very telling.

This kind of practice is the fault of the people. i mean if people really did not like these practices which i don't. they would not of brought the ps 1 as that was riddle with this kind of practice. one of many reasons i did not ever buy a ps 1. i am not into sleazy tactics like this put together with hype machines.

tbh, I played the original on PC, plan to play it on the pc again, so call me when it hits Steam. :)

I don't get why they (Apple) would want a timed exclusive on a free to download game anyway? Do Apple get a cut of the micro transactions? I thought all those proceedings would go directly into EA pockets?

If it weren't true, Apple would be filing suit against Frank Gibeau and/or EA. Their inaction is consistent with his claim.

anyone who hasn't played it yet, it's not that great. Like a free to play ad on.

It wouldn't have caused any controversy if they admitted to timed release agendas as it's nothing new in the industry. So why exactly did they do it? most likely the fact that droid users want a phone with themes, are the general buyer and don't pay up as compared to ios. Not to mention that they could have released the ios version before the android build was ready to be shipped.

As long as it comes out eventually on Android, then I'm happy with that. At least Kingdom Rush Frontiers Android comes out tomorrow ;P That'll keep me going!

Both EA and Apple are "evil" companies so I'm actually inclined to believe money was exchanged regardless of what they may say. Greed rules all, unfortunately.

Ok... who cares if they did? Apple paid to gain exclusivity rights temporarily, though in a less direct way than how, say Microsoft, would approach a timed exclusivity agreement. Not a big deal. I'm just wondering where the hell my console version is. Hell, I'll even take a W8/WP8 version so I can get it on my laptop. Big fan of the first one on my 360 and I have zero interest in Call of Plants vs Zombies.
