GameSpot has learned that Fox Interactive has delayed the release of Planet of the Apes for the PC, the Sony PlayStation, and the Sega Dreamcast. The game, originally scheduled for a late 2000 release, is now set for some time in the late spring or early summer of next year.

Developed by Visiware Studios, Planet of the Apes falls squarely in the action-adventure genre. Players will control the character Ulysses, and must find their way out of a planet inhabited by humanoid apes. Although the game's introduction closely mimics the original movie, Planet of the Apes eventually introduces a new story and characters.
