Another Crash Bandicoot Character Is Playable in Skylanders Imaginators

When Crash Bandicoot makes his way to Skylanders Imaginators later this year, he's coming with an old foe. Dr. Neo Cortex is also set to appear as a playable character in the upcoming toys-to-life game.

Activision revealed Crash's nemesis at Gamescom, where it also showed off a new level called Thumpin' Wumpa Islands. The Islands include unique Crash Zones that feature the giant boulder chases that you may remember from the original games on PlayStation. The level also features TNT crates, Wumpa Fruit, and other Crash-inspired elements. Thumpin' Wumpa Islands is available to players who purchase the Crash Bandicoot edition of the Skylanders Imaginators Starter Pack on PS4 and PS3.

"We approached the level as a way for us to bring the best parts of Skylanders and the best parts of Crash together into one epic adventure," said Vicarious Visions studio head Jen Oneal. "Players are going to enjoy how we've honored the heritage of traditional Crash games in the musically-themed, TNT crate-filled level. For fans of Crash this is going to feel like going back to the old world of Crash Bandicoot--but in gorgeous 1080p."

Skylanders Imaginators releases on October 13 for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U. However, the Crash Bandicoot characters and level are only available on PS4 and PS3.

The playable Crash Bandicoot character was announced at E3 2016, alongside a new collection that will feature remastered versions of the first three Crash Bandicoot games. It will release exclusively for PS4.
