The Star Wars TV show Andor is coming back for a second season, and now series creator Tony Gilroy has shared some new information about it. To begin with, Season 2--which be the show's last--will start filming this week, Gilroy told Collider.

The show will film until August 2023, Gilroy said. As for when Andor Season 2 will be on Disney+, Gilroy said fans should get comfortable. He expects the show to air about two years from now.

"If past is predicate, and we do the same thing we did before, it'll be on the same schedule. It will come out two years later," he said.

Post-production work for an effects-heavy show like Andor takes up a good amount of time, Gilroy said. The only way to speed things up is with additional funding, and Gilroy doesn't see that happening.

"Money is tight. So, I don't really know, there would have to be some serious motivation next May or June or something. Someone would have to say, 'Wow, we really need this, and we're willing to pay X.' Rogue One proved, if you throw money at it, you can do post really, really fast. It's just very, very, very expensive," Gilroy said.

In regards to money being tight, Disney recently reported $1.5 billion in losses from its streaming content division.

Andor Season 1 airs its 12th and final episode this Wednesday, November 23. While Star Wars fans have to wait some time for the next season of Andor, The Mandalorian Season 3 is set to debut in February.
