The scares will continue. Coming off of its 9th season, AHS 1984, FX has decided to renew American Horror Story for three more seasons--in addition to the previously announced Season 10 renewal. That means the series will run through at least Season 13.

The news was announced at the TCA winter press tour. "Ryan [Murphy] and Brad [Falchuk] are the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX's highest-rated series," FX Networks and FX Productions chairman John Landgraf said in a statement. "We are grateful to them and Dana Walden and our studio partners for committing to another three years. AHS has showcased a wealth of award-winning actors since day one and we appreciate the contributions of everyone, including Ryan, Brad and fellow executive producers Tim Minear, James Wong, Alexis Martin Woodall, and Bradley Buecker, the writers, directors, cast, and crew for each new, unforgettable installment of American Horror Story."

Now Playing: American Horror Story Season 10 Predictions & Theories

The 10th season of American Horror Story is scheduled to air sometime later this year. At this point, though, a theme has not been announced for the next installment. Given how varied the theme of the series has been from year to year--topics range from the 1980s to politics to settings that include creepy hotels, freakshows, asylums, and anything else you can make spooky--there's no telling what the team will tackle in its next season.
