All week long we've been bringing you new screenshots of some of the hottest upcoming games, including Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Duke Nukem Forever, and Soldier of Fortune. Today, we continue this unofficial and impromptu series with a quick look at Cavedog's Amen: The Awakening.

Amen takes place on Christmas Eve in 2032 as more than a third of the world's population has been consumed by an unknown virus that mysteriously drives its victims insane. As a British commando, you're assigned the task of finding the truth behind this virus. The first-person shooter spans more than twelve "acts" or levels, and like Half-Life, will force players to rely on puzzle-solving skills and stealth rather than on mindless fragging.

Development on Amen was thought to have ceased when six level designers were released a few weeks ago, but according to Cavedog, those positions will be filled by next summer, and the game should be released by mid- to late-2000. Take a look at these shots - we'll keep you posted on any other Amen development updates.
