Now Playing: Resident Evil 7 Video Review

Volume 1 launched for PS4 on January 31. It includes two Scenario missions--Bedroom and Nightmare--and a new "tough as nails" mode called Ethan Must Die. To find out if the add-on is worth your time, check out our discussion here.

Volume 2 meanwhile includes the 21 Scenario, in which Capcom says you must "gamble life and limb in a deadly game run by Lucas Baker," and the Daughters Scenario, which acts as a prequel to the main game.

In addition, the second expansion includes a new mode, called Jack's 55th Birthday. This is described as a "comical game mode" that involves feeding the game's villain, Jack Baker, "tons of food." Take a look at the mode in action here.

The base game launched in January to critical acclaim. We called it "a remarkable success" in our Resident Evil 7: Biohazard review. Fans of the franchise should definitely check out our two-part Resident Evil documentary series.

In other Resident Evil 7 news, it recently emerged that the game was toned down for its Japanese release--find out how here. Worldwide, it shipped 2.5 million copies in its launch week, which was well below the first-week figures for Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 5. Resident Evil 7 has now shipped 3 million copies.
