Now Playing: All PS4 Games Confirmed So Far For E3 2019 - GS News Update

The video game's industry biggest show of the year, E3 2019, is so close. We're already inundated with pre-E3 events, and next week is set to be even bigger--even with the absence of Sony from the proceedings. PlayStation will not be attending E3 this year, meaning there won't be a Sony press conference or booth on the stage floor. That's sad news for those desperate to hear about the company's first-party games, but there are still plenty of other companies attending the show with PS4 games to showcase.

Sony decided against appearing at E3 2019 out of a desire to showcase its games in new and different ways compared to previous years. "As the industry evolves, Sony Interactive Entertainment continues to look for inventive opportunities to engage the community," the company said in a statement to GameSpot. "PlayStation fans mean the world to us and we always want to innovate, think differently and experiment with new ways to delight gamers. As a result, we have decided not to participate in E3 in 2019. We are exploring new and familiar ways to engage our community in 2019 and can't wait to share our plans with you."

At this point, we don't know what those plans will look like, as Sony has not announced any kind of replacement event--although it did surprise by revealing a variety of details about the PS5 this spring. The system is still without an official name or release date, but it's now spoken about the system on multiple occasions, detailing its specs and drastic load time improvements.

Death Stranding, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Part II are still the company's biggest upcoming tentpole releases for PS4. Even with PS5 coming, Sony has reassured fans that these games will still release on PS4. We finally got a release date for Death Stranding recently, as Sony released a lengthy new trailer for the game, seemingly in lieu of having a presence at E3.

On the other hand, The Last of Us Part II co-director Anthony Newman said that developer Naughty Dog is looking to hire people to help "close out" the long-awaited game. Unfortunately, Ghost of Tsushima hasn't received any recent development updates as of late.

E3 will last about three days going from June 11-13. A handful of press conferences from the industry's biggest companies are scheduled to precede the show. Read on for the full list of confirmed PS4 games so far, and check back as we continue to update this article with more in the coming days.

look like a bunch of 3rd party games to me.

I just came here to read the outrage culture comments. Was not disappointed.

Figured we’d still see some PS4 games at E3 as well as exclusives. Nice way to end the gen.

(mostly) wretched list of games. they look like a rejected pile of crud... considering this is the end of a console generation, you would expect better games from 3rd party developers. the only games from that list i am remotely interested in are: doom eternal, cyberpunk (should be great) trine 4 and MAYBE jedi fallen order, (i don't expect much to be honest but keeping an open mind).

great list of games

Avatar image for 5tu88sy

I stopped reading the list at Bee Simulator

Avatar image for Elranzer

I guess that's why Sony won't be at E3 this year.

Avatar image for lonesamurai00

Look at this list? You'd be a damned fool to play these on a console, and especially on the PS4 Pro. Third-party games may as well be considered PC exclusives. PC is where they are best played.

Avatar image for Elranzer

@lonesamurai00: Unless said PC game is an Epic Store exclusive, which means the game is dead to most PC gamers.

Avatar image for lonesamurai00

@Elranzer: I wouldn't recommend it, but even Epic store games are better than playing them on a PS4 console. - they're just too weak.

Avatar image for aross2004

@lonesamurai00: Beggar race FTW!

Avatar image for lonesamurai00

@aross2004: Garbage PS4 hardware for the loss...

Avatar image for bdrtfm

You're kidding right? Those are not PS4 games. They are multiplat games that can be played on the PS4. Massive difference. I mean, what the hell? I was wondering how the heck article would say Sony was going to show their console exclusives without being. Now I know how - they're not. This is nothing but a word bait article that should be beneath Gamespot.

Trine 4, I am sure it will not disappoint.

I don't care about lists or numbers, just give us a good game.

Avatar image for imajinn

FF7 remake you forgot on that list

Avatar image for yamisniper

im pretty sure ff7 remake is confirmed 2

Avatar image for Simulator_Shock

I know it's not gonna happen at E3 (at least not this year) but I would love to see Capcom announce a RE3 remake trailer with a 2020 release date.

Avatar image for pmanden

@Simulator_Shock: You never know. Or maybe on PS5 in 2021?

Avatar image for fulcrvm

Anthem... why even bother, weirdly enough I’m still playing the game but at this point it’s gonna need a miracle directly from god for it to be able to redeem itself. I can already see the cringe as they try to salvage this game come E3

Avatar image for listerofsmeg

Cyberpunk 2077? Oh yeah, that'll be where they show us another trailer and then we have to wait 4 months for a gameplay demo.

Why is Monster Hunter World classed as a Playstation game when it's multiplatform?

It's not specific to Playstation and apart from 1st and 2nd gen never has been.

Avatar image for gustavob

@nuke2099: all of these games are multiplataform, they never said they were Playstation exclusives.

Avatar image for doomsdayhell01

What list? I see nothing there. The PC list has way more than that

Avatar image for WarGreymon77

This year is going to suck, isn't it? Well, maybe the Star Wars game will be okay.

Avatar image for knolddasker

Cyberpunk Will dominante all other games

Avatar image for gzaface

From that list only interested on Cyberpunk 2077.

Avatar image for batusai4ever

@gzaface: if it were 3rd person I might be interested but 1st person doesn't look that appealing

Avatar image for redhedjack

Still no Ratchet & Clank. :(

Avatar image for justthetip

@redhedjack: Lol. Who the Hell cares about Ratchet & Clank at this point? After the movie flopped, it’s a dead franchise.

Avatar image for aross2004

@justthetip: I have yet to play a bad Ratchet and Clank game.

I would love a new one!

Avatar image for onehitta323

@justthetip: I care. Great games.

Avatar image for redhedjack

@justthetip: Never mind the fact that its one of the Playstations signature franchises, the PS4 remake was Insomniacs best (and fastest) selling game up until Spider-Man and is only 2nd to Mario when it comes to consistent 3D platformer series.
