Remedy Entertainment's spooky narrative action game, Alan Wake, is heading to Xbox Game Pass for Xbox One and PC. It will go live on the subscription service on May 21.

The announcement was made during a stream commemorating the 10th anniversary of the game, which originally launched on Xbox 360 and PC. A small expansion, named American Nightmare, followed afterwards, but a sequel seems out of reach for now. Remedy has expressed the desire to pursue Alan Wake 2, but no plans are in place currently. Remedy also acquired the rights to the Alan Wake IP from Microsoft last year.

Alan Wake is expected to appear in some capacity soon, however. Control, Remedy's latest new IP, features an upcoming expansion that will incorporate Alan Wake and its narrative in some way. Considering how many references there were to Alan Wake in Control's main story, it'll be intriguing to see how Remedy ties its two critically acclaimed games together.

Back in 2010, GameSpot award Alan Wake a 8/10 in our original review, with critic Tom Mc Shea writing, "Alan Wake is a riveting adventure that will keep you glued to the screen until the very end."
