The studio behind the Robin Hood and Desperados squad-based games is working on a new game with a gangsters theme.

Spellbound has confirmed to us that the studio is working on a new gangsters-themed game called Al Capone. The studio's Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood was just recently released, and the new project is in the early stages of development. Spellbound has signed a publishing agreement with Wanadoo, which has been working with Strategy First for North American distribution.

Few gameplay details are available at this time, but Spellbound's Andreas Speer said that it will be an "RTS game with more role-playing elements than in Robin Hood and with a lot of action. The game is about the fight between the gangsters and the police." We'll have more on the game as information becomes available.
